The Practice: What Is Aerial Somatic Therapy?
Aerial Somatic Therapy is spatial medicine in motion. Hands-on bodywork done in a suspended fabric, where the whole body can be reached at once. Gravity becomes a therapeutic tool. It is a modality where complete nervous system support creates the conditions for genuine transformation.
A precision method grounded in over two decades of exploration. Accessible to the body in ways ground-based work cannot reach. Designed to serve both the person receiving it and the person offering it.
The Method
Aerial Somatic Therapy is a precision bodywork method that harnesses gravity and spatial positioning to resource the nervous system into safety, recondition the fascial network, and offer ease for the practitioner. The swing creates complete support while the practitioner works from multiple planes of access (below, lateral, above), creating 360-degree contact with the body.
Through compression, traction, and rotation, the fascial system hydrates. The body reorganizes at new depths and reconnects with its fluid nature for movement and response. The body comes home to itself.
AST is made up of two practices: a self-bodywork practice and a practitioner-client session, each rooted in the same three principles.
Attunement. Alignment. Embodiment.
Three Principles, One Practice
AST is built on three principles that run through every aspect of the work:
Attunement
Presence and the capacity to listen with the whole body, creating the container for nervous system safety.
Alignment
Organizing your body in relationship to gravity and your own center, accessing regenerative support.
Embodiment
The state where the body feels safe enough to reorganize and release on its own.
These principles live in both the self-bodywork practice and the practitioner-client session.
What Makes Aerial Somatic Therapy Different?
AST was built around a specific set of conditions, for the body, the nervous system, and the practitioner, that are unlike anything else in the field.
